According to the report of the Public Relations of the Academy of Arts, a specialized meeting on "Joint Capacities of Iranian and Chinese Cinema" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and China, on the evening of Thursday, December 2, 1400, was attended by Bahman Namvar Motlagh, President of the Academy of Arts; Chang Hua, Chinese Ambassador to Tehran; Majid Majidi, Head of the Cinema Department of the Academy of Arts; Josie Howo, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese embassy and group of directors and residents of culture and art and cinema experts were held at the Academy .

 

The world needs the unity of the Orientals .

At the beginning of the meeting,

Bahman Namvar Motlagh, President of the Academy of Arts, called Iran and China the representatives of two great civilizations and said: "These two great countries of the Orient have historically been very influential in the fate of humanity and the world.

He said the world today is in need of the unity of the Orientals and stated: Iran, China and India are three great Asian civilizations that have been the origin of many ideas, especially art, and we are glad that our relations with China are expanding; We hope it will be the same with India.

He added: "In my opinion, perhaps the situation of nature would not be like this if Eastern aesthetics had prevailed." Our view of nature is completely different from that of the West. Persian, Chinese and Indian paintings, in comparison with Roman and Greek paintings, are very different in the type of relation that man has with nature. He said: absolutely "common vision" and "common interests" are two necessary principles for maintaining relations with China and the Academy of Arts is ready to cooperate in the field of common vision and in the field of Eastern aesthetics, which is combined with spirituality, enlightenment and reason." and thinkers, and theorists can work continuously on aesthetic issues in a joint working group set up at the Academy of Arts. If our aesthetics do not come together, our relationship will be short-lived.

Regarding the principle of "common interests", he said: "We must show our nations that there are mutual interests and if this concept is not transferred, these relations will not remain stable."

The President of the Academy of Arts said in his concluding remarks: "We are pleased that agreements have been concluded in the field of cinema with China and we hope that it will expand in various dimensions." We can also work in the field of painting, and in the case of pottery, history and see how much we have worked together. But today's discussion is cinema; In the field of cinema, we are ready to talk to each other to the best of our ability and to share our common experiences. I wish this relationship to be stable with the same two principles that I mentioned.

 

Utilizing the capacity of cinema in the development of comprehensive strategic relations between China and Iran

Then, Chang Hua, the Chinese ambassador in Tehran, considered the holding of this meeting as a meaningful move, important and a great event in the history of Chinese-Iranian cinematic relations, and expressed his satisfaction with his presence among Iranian cinematographers. He said that the cinema is a bridge between the friendship of nations, an ambassador that connects the feelings of people with each other and a window to show the culture of tribes and the image of their spirits. Two big, soaring trees have been transformed into a world cinema garden.

The Chinese ambassador in Tehran referred to the history of joint Chinese-Iranian film activities and said: "Some time ago, when the second Chinese film week was held, artists from the two countries talked to each other in face-to-face and online workshops, and in the same program." Seven selected films from Chinese cinema were introduced to Iranian audiences.

Mr. Chang Hua, stating that the field of Chinese and Iranian cinema has a wide potential for cooperation, referred to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the "National Cinema Administration of China" and the "Iranian Cinema Organization" this year as a step towards the promotion of civilized relations and mutual learning, as well as the mutual strengthening of the building of popular ties between the two countries.

The Chinese ambassador in Tehran expressed satisfaction with the brilliance of Iranian films in Chinese film festivals such as Shanghai and said: "The presence of Iranian films in Chinese festivals in recent years has become a beautiful and stable scene and many Iranian directors, including Mr. Majid Majidi to make Films have been invited to China.

In this regard, he added: "Chinese films in recent years, has become one of the regular guests of the Fajr Film Festival of Iran, and in general, the cinematic field of interactions between the two countries has welcomed the spring of mutual and beneficial cooperation for both parties."

He stressed the signing of a new memorandum of cooperation between the Chinese and Iranian academies of art promote close cooperation between the two sides in the field of film creations, comparative research and education.

At the end of his speech, Chang Hua said that holding a series of cultural and artistic programs between the two countries, and increasing the attractiveness of traditional Sino-Iranian friendship, strengthens mutual recognition of the two nations and stated: Jadid will play a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Iran in order to advance and develop relations.

We can have good cooperation in the field of children and family cinema

Continuing the meeting, Majid Majidi, the head of the cinema group of the Academy of Arts, referring to the historical and cultural commonalities of the two countries, said: "I entered into cooperation with China in 2008; Both in the field of cinema and in the field of academia. There are very good capacities in the academic fields. Today, Iranian cinema is taught in major Chinese film

universities, and this indicates the capacity for collaboration, for intellectual, theoretical and cultural exchange.

He added: "It is no secret that Iranian cinema has been a leader not only in China, but in the whole world." We all know that festivals are a bridge for cinematic works to spread among the people and leave cultural and economic effects. One of the important points of cinema is its economy. Cinema has both art and industry; The prosperity of cinema can be further enhanced by the economic cycle.

 

The well-known director of our country continued: "We hope that with the cultural protocols that have been concluded, we can take steps both in terms of joint productions and in the field of Iranian cinema in China, and I hope that such gatherings will lead to joint productions.

" He said: "We can have good cooperation in the field of children's cinema, family and social issues." The way we look, taste and relate to the family is very close to China, and these commonalities can be greatly exploited.

"One of our main concerns as filmmakers is to be able to provide opportunities to have a share of the Chinese film market with joint productions," said the associate member of the Academy of Arts at the end of his speech.

The literature of the resistance of the two countries can be the common axis of cinematic works

 Following the ceremony, Amin Bazrafshan, Head of the Confucius Center at the University of Tehran, spoke about the productions, record and cinematic achievements of the two countries and presented statistics on Chinese cinema and its joint products. He saw the international cooperation between Iran and China as an opportunity for mutual recognition and spoke of the power of convergence between the two countries. At the end of his speech, Bazrafshan pointed to the similarities in the resistance literature of the two countries, which can be a common axis of cinematic works, and explained the ability to make films focusing on digital technology and the ability to use this platform.

 Yan Shu Fei, secretary general of the Chinese Cinema Association, focused on some of the well-known works of Chinese cinema and introduced and analyzed them as important works with a special place in Chinese cinema. He also provided statistics on China's cinema economy and explained the state of Chinese cinema cooperation with other countries, as well as joint film production contracts, in this video.

 

The two nations can gain a deeper understanding of each other through film

Zhao Wei Fang, head of the cinema department of the Chinese Academy of Arts, was also present with a video of his speech. He referred to the film as a display of culture as well as a bridge between cultures and called the role of film important in promoting the connection of civilizations. He added: "The relationship between Chinese and Iranian civilization has a very long history." The cultural and cinematic activities of these two countries are also expanding. We realized that Iranian films, with their unique artistic appeal, shine brightly in world cinema, and we believe that the two nations can gain a deep understanding of each other through film and continue their friendship.

Cultural relationship is based on dialogue

The next speaker at the meeting was Manouchehr Shahsavari, CEO of the Cinema House. He said: "If we accept that there is no other way for active behavior in the new world that is the basis of the image, except the film industry, then the ancient civilizations such as Iran and China, are properly sensitive and active to their film industry and are active." He added: "Progress is a matter of political will and political leaders; There is no doubt about that. Every development anywhere in the world is based on such a will. But maintaining progress and consolidating it has no other way but with culture.

Shahsavari continued: "The cultural relationship is based on dialogue and acceptance of the needs of the parties." We have a cinema in the country that is based on the beliefs and aspirations of the people and talks about needs that may be appealing to a part of the Chinese audience, and vice versa. We can first prove our dialogue and communication by showing the cinematic works of the two countries, which is defined as a global process.

 

China and Iran: In Search of Recovered Opportunities

 Hussein Sheikholeslami, a member of the Academy of Arts' cinema group, presented the final speach with the article "China and Iran: In Search of Recycled Opportunities" and presented his presentation as a roadmap for establishing a strategic link between the Iran-China image industry.

The possibility of laying the groundwork and realizing the strategic links between the image industry in China and Iran were among the topics he addressed.

This researcher, considering the competitive advantages and dual and mutual opportunities, pointed out: this opportunity should be taken in the direction of the growth of the image industry in Iran and the scope of influence should be expanded. He also examined the familiarity with the image industry in Iran and China and examined the policy structure of the Chinese image industry with axes such as: operations and production, market control and policy-making and monitoring. At the end of her speech, Sheikholeslami addressed the current priorities and needs of the two countries and outlined the operational axes of the cinematic relationship between Iran and China by presenting a proposed package.

In the final part of this specialized meeting, Raed Faridzadeh, a member of the cinema group of the Academy of Arts; Josie Howe, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, and Meysam Yazdi, Scientific Coordinator of the Academy, gave a speech summarizing the discussions. The meeting ended with a discussion among the cinema experts who attended the meeting. Also before the meeting, a meeting was held between the President of the Academy of Arts and the Ambassador of China, after which Mr. Chang Hua visited the Museum of Selected Works of the Permanent and Immortal Members of the Academy of Arts.
