The Academy of Arts Hosts the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Iran

In a meeting between Majid Shah Hosseini, the President of the Academy of Arts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Fariduddin Nasriev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tehran, it was stated: The joint cooperation of the two civilized and brotherly nations will prevent the distortion of history. Because the shared words of the culture and art of Iran and Uzbekistan are like lost Simorghs (mythical birds) that, when placed together, form the legendary Simorgh.

According to the Public Relations of the Academy of Arts, the President of the Academy of Arts, along with several managers of the organization, held a friendly meeting, in line with the "Art Builds Bridges" initiative and with the aim of expanding cultural-artistic relations, with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Fariduddin Nasriev. Shah Hosseini, referring to the valuable measures taken by the government of Uzbekistan regarding the opening of the grand Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, said: Art will be a good starting point for practical actions and deep connections between the two countries in the field of cultural diplomacy. Especially since the Academy of Arts is considered the highest position and the strategic planning center for the country"s art, and it has specialized groups that plan at the highest level in all matters related to culture and art, including art research, traditional and visual arts, architecture, painting, as well as new arts such as cinema and theater.
While wishing good health for Akmal Nouruddin, the President of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, he expressed hope that the Academy could host him and the accompanying delegation of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in Iran next month so that the parties could discuss the preliminaries of a five-year action plan, the contents of which are being prepared in the form of a draft memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation, and establish comprehensive cooperation.
This permanent member of the Academy of Arts, emphasizing the necessity of developing operational and executive plans if desired by the Uzbek side, spoke about matters such as exchanging digital copies of reference books in the field of art, holding joint cultural and artistic weeks in the two capitals, and preserving shared cultural and artistic heritage, and considered the commitment of both sides to safeguarding the great figures of the two countries" civilizations essential. He mentioned the incorrect and problematic narrative of Western cinema in the film The Physician (2013), which was made about the character of Avicenna, and added: If we do not safeguard our great figures, others will not do so.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, thanking the Academy of Arts for its hospitality, expressed satisfaction with the expansion of relations between the two countries in recent years and, citing examples of the development and prosperity of civil relations between Iran and Uzbekistan, announced his government"s willingness to host an Iranian delegation in Uzbekistan.
He added: There is great interest on our part in establishing broader connections between the two academies, and we hope to achieve good results in this field. Furthermore, we know that the history of the two countries is very close, and there is a lot of historical information about Uzbekistan in Iran. Since having access to this information is very valuable for us, Uzbek experts are ready to, with the agreement of the Islamic Republic, review the archive of this information and transfer it to Uzbek libraries or the Center of Islamic Civilization.
Nasriev continued: Regarding Avicenna, our suggestion is to make a joint film about his life, with some parts filmed in his birthplace, Bukhara, and other parts in his burial place, Hamadan. Combining the shared perspective of both sides can lead to a worthy result. He said: I hereby invite you to join in a symbolic gesture on the anniversary of Avicenna"s commemoration by gathering next to his statue in Tehran and honoring this spiritual heritage.

Abdolrahim Firouz Zadeh, the Manager of the Presidential Office, Public Relations, and International Affairs of the Academy of Arts, said: We have long been eager for this meeting, and through our continuous communications with the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, we have presented important suggestions such as exchanging art books, opening a section for Central Asian art books in the library of the Academy of Arts, cooperation in the field of teaching miniature painting, and studying artistic works from historical periods, especially the Timurid period, which is of interest to Mr. Akmal Nouruddin, and we hope to realize them with the help of the esteemed Ambassador.
