Mohammad Ali Moallem, born in 1951, from Damghan, completed his primary and secondary education in Damghan and then in Shahroud and Semnan.

He completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Literature and Law of the University of Tehran and at the same time turned to poetry, literature and literary research in the field of Bidelology .

In the field of poetry and music, Moallem Damghani had effective collaborations with the literature, poetry and music units of the artistic field and was somehow involved in some of the most important developments and events of these three fields of this cultural and artistic institution.

Other activities include managing the literary group of the Radio, chairing the Poetry and Music Council of the Radio and Television Organization, and artistic advisor to the Radio and Television of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Among Ali Moallem's works, we can mention the book "Red Star Return" and the series of books "Selection of Contemporary Literature" published by Neystan Publishing.

Ali Moallem has mastered the field Bidelology of as well as recognizing the capacities and subtleties of Khaghani poetry, and some lessons of his speeches about these two poets have been broadcast on television.

Features of Moallem's poetry include unique and epic structure, employment of weights, mythology, long lines, difficult writing and use of abandoned and local words, and having internal music.

He was the president of the Academy of Arts from 2009 to 2018
